Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

Reports to: Store Manager
SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting the store manager on operations and customer support for quality service, customer satisfaction and profitability. Supervise the sales staff and sales floor in the absence of store manager. Provides support in coordinating activities with the Company’s objectives, assists in store promotional and optimal display of merchandising programs. Performs administrative functions including tracking, ordering, and managing inventory, ensuring store security. Keeps the Store Manager well informed of activities and significant problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist store manager in setting goals for sales, service environment, merchandise moves, shrinkage figures and expense controls. Executes merchandise floor moves to drive sales according to ad schedule bi-monthly. Provides training and provide feedback to sales associates and key holders. Establishes effective communication with sales personnel to ensure that they are appropriately informed of merchandising polices and programs.
Maintains operational records, including daily transaction documents, sales reports, loss summaries.
Assists in maintaining optimal merchandise levels. Ensures that inventory is handled, stored, and processed to minimize loss or damage.
Takes proactive role in establishing and carrying out shrinkage control disciplines and programs, this includes inventory and LP Audits
Supervises as well as participates in unloading of trucks, sorting of merchandise,
stocking shelves, ticketing merchandise, re-merchandising and the reconciliation of all cash and inventory transactions.
Maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring that merchandising/recovery is completed and that register and customer service area is processing customers in a timely manner.
Determine and distribute work assignments to associates. Ensures maintenance,
cleaning and store appearance is up to company standards.
Maintains store-level compliance with company standards of safety, security, facility maintenance, postings/notifications and other administrative duties.
Performs other store duties as needed to ensure smooth operations and to meet
customer needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May supervise approximately five or more store personnel in the absence of store manager. Such employees handle customer needs, selling merchandise, stocking shelves, operating a cash register. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. May participate in training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Addresses customer complaints and resolves problems.

Cash Register, Calculator, Computer, Scanner.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Position may require on-call availability 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Ability to store hours and work evenings and/or weekends as needed. Work schedule varies each week and includes working nights and weekends. Self-motivator with strong communication, organizational and leadership skills required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two to five years of retail experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Demonstrated managerial skills required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, and interpret common retail information. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic Math ability is required. I.e. add, subtract, multiple, divide. Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define
problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

The employee frequently is required to stand and walk, sit and talk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
