Job Title: Key Holder

SUMMARY
Responsible for performing a variety of sales functions. Arranges, organizes, and
displays merchandise. Processes sales transactions, returns, and special orders, and ensures that all related documentation is accurate and complete. Serves customers in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Provides support in coordinating activities with the Company’s objectives, performs sales duties and assists in store merchandising programs. Performs administrative functions including tracking, ordering, and managing inventory, ensuring store security. Keeps the Store Manager well informed of activities and significant problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Unloads truck, sorts merchandise, stocks shelves, counters, racks, and tables with merchandise. Organizes and rearranges merchandise as necessary. Returns misplaced items to correct locations. Ensures the neat and orderly appearance of sales displays. Marks and tags merchandise with pricing, size, and product specifications. Cleans shelves, counters, and tables.
Assists with the presentation of window displays, promotional presentations, and sales programs as assigned.
Works to prevent damage and theft of merchandise, and preserves materials in saleable condition. Ensures that merchandise is stored, handled, and displayed in accordance with established Company policies and procedures.
Provides product information including price, location, and use of merchandise to
customers. Records requests for merchandise, orders products, and notifies customers promptly. Operates the cash register and prepares customer receipts efficiently. Totals price, tax, and shipping and handling charges accurately. Balances the cash register at the end of each shift or as scheduled.
Processes credit cards, checks, vouchers, gift certificates, cash payments, and
discounts properly. Follows established policies and procedures for verifying payment and ensuring accuracy. Follows store policies for merchandise returns. Records and restocks products. Wraps, packages, and/or bags merchandise appropriately. Completes sales functions in compliance with established policies and procedures and in a professional and courteous manner. Responds to inquiries in an informed and polite manner. Refers questions as appropriate. Answers telephone calls courteously and provides callers with information
as requested. Records and relays messages correctly. Provides training and provide feedback to sales associates Maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring that merchandising/recovery is completed and that register and customer service area is processing customers in a timely manner. Performs other store duties as needed to ensure smooth operations and to meet customer needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May supervises in the absence of store management. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. May participate in training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Addresses customer complaints and resolving problems.
EQUIPMENT USED
Cash Register, Calculator, Computer, Scanner.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Position may require on-call availability 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Ability to work store hours, evenings and/or weekends as needed. Work schedule varies each week and includes working nights and weekends. Self-motivator with strong communication, organizational and leadership skills required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one to two years retail experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, and interpret common retail information. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiple, divide. Do basic math calculations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define
problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Mobility to move freely throughout store on a continual basis throughout the workday. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk, sit and talk. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, staple, or feel; reach with hands and arms; lift overhead, push, climb or balance on a ladder; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Dust/lint/odor from products in the store as well as the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
