Regional Manager

 

Position Summary: The Regional Director oversees the Operations, Sales, and Profitability of the assigned region. The primary responsibility of the RD is to provide leadership, focus, direction and coaching to District Managers and Regional Managers to achieve Region’s performance plan targets. The RD will have full P&L accountability for 5-9 Districts, encompassing 40-80 stores. Heavy focus on analysis of financial reports and responding to trends. Responsible for region’s staffing, success planning and personnel development. Delegation, development, coaching, mentoring, and direction of DMs and RMs is paramount to success in this role. The RD will be responsible for conducting Quarterly Business reviews with all RMs and DMs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Sales and Profit Goals

  • Achievement of sales goals through store performance, merchandising, customer service
  • Share best practice ideas across the region
  • Action plan developed on stores lagging the Company average in key metrics: Average Transactions, Margin, Customer Service calls, Controllable Profit, Store Cash Contribution, and others.
  • Review P&L for exceptions, manage problem areas
  • Manage Payroll to budget

 

 

Store Operations Standards

  • Use the Store Visit checklist to coach DM's to achieve operational effectiveness and performance against standards
  • Prepare detailed notes of areas for improvement and review  w/ management
  • Follow up on notes from last visit
  • Anna’s Linens standards in visual merchandise, cleanliness, and operations are  maintained in all stores

 

 

Customer Service

  • Review Customer Service reports to look for trends or issues in region
  • Spot check stores for proper customer service standards and training

 

 

Compliance

  • Insure that stores comply with all laws, all company policies, and all current communications
  • Stores maintain safe working environments—review accident reports for corrective action in problem stores
  • Stores are positive working environments where Anna’s culture and values thrive.
  • Anna’s Mission Statement is posted and practiced

 

Inventory

  • Management and staff are effectively trained to prepare and execute inventories
  • Inventories are completely timely and accurately
  • Inventories are analyzed for trends, problems

 

Shrink

  • Region’s shrink numbers are constantly monitored and analyzed
  • Lead  Regional Shrink Reduction Committee which is tasked with solving regional shrink issues

 

Communication

  • Ensure all communication to the stores  is effective, positive, and supportive. 
  • Respond to email and voice mail within one work days (24 hours). 
  • Insure that stores are executing the communications received from the office, district and region
  • Zip codes are being captured to support Marketing Analysis

 

Personnel Development and Planning

  • Region’s turnover is analyzed and plans made to address problem areas
  • Staffing of Management and hourly personnel maintained
  • Certified Training Store in each District
  • Succession Plan completed annually for Region
  • New store teams identified and developed
  • Performance reviews are done throughout region
  • Compensation planning is fair and equitable throughout region

 

 

 

Store Maintenance and Repair

  • Facilitate the immediate repair on any items creating hazardous conditions
  • Contract local providers when needed to expedite repairs
  • Develop annual Capital Expense plans

 

 

Corporate Responsibilities

·         Develop and maintain relationships with Merchants to insure proper mix and amount in stores-

·         Collaborate with functional departments for feedback, projects, etc.  

·         Communicate company position and changes in a positive light

·         Participate in Talent Review Session for entire company
